Premier Mounts has long offered some of the best TV mounts, and now they have raised the bar (no pun intended). Being displayed at CES, their LIFT1 and LIFT2 mounts are fully motorized and adaptable. Motorized lifts have become highly requested in living rooms, boardrooms and bedrooms.
Disney has officially announced their top Blu-ray releases for the 2009 year. In addition, they are also introducing the Disney Combo Pack, which will include a Blu-ray and DVD copy of the film in the packaging. 2009 releases will include “Pinocchio” as well as “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” Walt Disney will also be packing a strong release for “High School Musical 3.”
Panasonic is no longer the only manufacturer in the game to bring 6x BD-R burnable media to your personal computer. With the host of Internal Blu-ray burners being released it is only natural that more manufacturers bring faster burnable media to the consumer. Ridata is the latest company.
Funai will now be taking over North American Blu-ray, DVD, and other audio/video operations for Philips. This move was officially announced in April of 2008. Funai is adept at low-cost production and expects to increase their North American sales by $332 million.
While it may be depressing to hear about the slow economy and HDTV manufacturers cutting production of flat-panel TVs, it should be a comfort to hear that Blu-ray is gaining ground with mainstream consumers. Blu-ray is moving out of the "early adoption" hole and into the light.
Cutting costs and increasing profitability is the name of the game, especially during these economic times. Both Sharp and Sony have recently announced the closing of manufacturing plants. LG has now announced that they will be cutting their production of plasma displays.
Following closely after Sony's announcement that they would be closing the last remaining Sony production plant in the United States, Sharp has announced that it will be closing two plants as well. While both plants are located in Japan, it is yet another HDTV manufacturer that is having to close doors to cut costs during this slowed economy.
With the amount of flat-panel HDTVs being mounted on the wall, it is only natural that more manufacturers release on-wall speakers. Jamo has recently released its A 804 on-wall speaker. It is design to work as an LCR, but is also capable of being used for surround performance.
After admiring Paradigms release of the SUB-25 15-inch subbwofer a couple weeks back, it might be easily to miss the company's launch of the PCS Series subwoofers. The PCS lineup consists of the PCS-80R in-ceiling subwoofer and the PCS-80SQ in-wall subwoofer.
The recessed economy has slowly been taking its toll on electronic consumers. However, it's the manufacturers that are beginning to feel the hurt. Over the past several months, HDTV manufacturers have been lowering prices, accumulating large back stocks and closing manufacturing plants. Sony is the latest company to shutdown plants.
