Performance Quality = 5.5 Sound Quality = 6.5 Even since the Sugarcubes I have been a big Bjork fan. There really isn't anything like her out there in the music scene however much like The Artist Formerly Known As Popular (aka: Prince), Bjork has made her way down the road less traveled. In other words her music has gotten really obscure. Homogenic is a record that rides a techno, ambient vibe that is consistent throughout however lacks any seriously strong cuts. The string arrangements are cool but the catchy songwriting just isn't anywhere to be found on this record. Much like Prince I really like Bjork but I must say this record is not much better than OK. I expect more from Bjork. I have hope for and will be in line to but the next record but for Homogenic... I just don't know. |
