Layne Staley, the 34-year-old singer from the Seattle based grunge band, Alice In Chains was found deal on Friday. Staley was known to be a heroin addict but according to multiple internet sources, the cause of death is not certain. Investigators did say that Staley had been dead for several days before he was found on Friday.
Alice In Chains was one of the most talented acts to rise from the Seattle music scene (including Soundgarden, Nirvana) in the early 1990s. Alice In Chains dark lyrical content and hard hitting rock style was a radical change from the hairspray rock of the late 1980’s heavy metal scene.
